Report card June - WIP and a finish in July

Since it is only the 3rd of July and I already have a finish, I am going to talk about that first.  I recently checked out the book " Modern Quilts from the Blogging Universe" published by Martingale.  Angela Nash over at mythreesonsknit.blogspot.com made the StarFlower quilt design and I loved it. Here is mine:
 
I used a few fat quarters and white kona. The finish is 60" x 60" approx. and I straight line quilted in white Aurfil. My biggest machine quilt yet.  Love the 'tweet street' backing too. 
On to my WIP for this week in July:

 I am trying to get my Retro Ruby quilt done for the QAL finish tomorrow.

 June Report card:
June 14th I finished "Regatta"
June 23rd and 24th I finished my two Child Advocacy donations:

June 25th  I finished my Modern Block 2 into a quilt
And on June 29th I finished my Project Quilting entry for Texture challenge
Slowly working on a couple designs and I did enter my Patone color Emerald -"Sequence" quilt into the Modern Mini challenge over at Ellison Lane. 
Mostly just chugging along. Can't wait to see what I can do in July.

Project Quilting Season 5 - #1

  So excited that Kim over at  Persimon Dreams is hosting Project Quilting again this year. It was so fun last year and I accomplished a lot.  This year I had so many ideas for this first Challenge. I wanted to do something more arty but when it came down to it I really need to make lap or baby size quilts for some of the charities I contribute to. I am sure I will do something more artsy before the challenge is over but for today I am going with a version of a scrap quilt.  The Challenge is "String Along with Me" I used the same strip quilt as you go as I did in a quilt I made last Oct following Maureen Cracknell and her Herringbone QAYG quilt tutorial.  This was is called Scrappy II  it is 43 x 45. All scrap strings, scrap batting pieces and scrap binding. My turn on the New Blogger Blog Hop

2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet

I am so excited to be taking part in the 2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet organized by Victoriana Quilt Designs! Welcome Welcome Welcome ~~~~~~~~~ My name is Kris and I have been quilting for quite a few years. I started pretty young, learning from my mom.  When she passed away I was not sure I wanted to continue to quilt and then......I did.  I made a portrait quilt of her and you can read about it  HERE Over the past few years since, I have jumped into trying and finding my way. Finish it up Friday and S'more Love Giveaway

  Today I have a quilt top done from my "Goodnight Irene" QAL over at Terry's Treasures HERE .  This was a pretty fast and fun put together. Few issues along the way but now going to piece a back and get this baby quilted. Today...or tomorrow...or soon!!!!   I decided to go 5 x 7 rows and then add the border. I think it will be a pretty good size. I am going to use more fat quarters for the back I think. The mix of prints and colors worked pretty well overall. Indoor pic..sorry!
