Around the Block Party!

"Around the Block" party finish this week.
40 "x 40" approx.

My last week was so productive that I only have a small finish so far this week.  My lqg got together one afternoon to make improv house blocks. It was so much fun that I made a whole block party of them.  I was trying out an idea for a color challenge using a paint chip that has 3 colors. This one had an amber orange color, a chocolate brown and an aqua. I sort of mixed in some gold too but it was fun trying out a color scheme like this and I think it would be fun guild project.

I love how they turned out and and it has started some talk about doing some outreach work for Habitat for Humanity homes. These would be great to do and each house adds a bit of whimsy.

These are adorable. I've yet to make a house block, though it is definitely on the list. Yours have such personality.

Love your wonky houses! Kudos to you for challenging yourself to stick to three colors. I think it makes the finish very cohesive.
Houses with attitude, so fun. Love the colour scheme too.
Fun quilt! I like the idea of using paint chips as colour guides. Very clever!

I love this quilt and it looks like so much fun to make. I enjoy making things with a touch of whimsy and this one is amazingly fun. I am your newest follower and I would love to invite you over to my little corner of blog-land to maybe even follow me back. I don't do much quilting this time of the year, because I'm busy getting your place ready for Spring and Summer, but there is always something going on. Today i will be out staining the fence:) I am delighted to have found your charming blog . . . and love meeting new blogging sisters.
Have a lovely weekend!
Connie :)
Such personality! Each house is even more whimsical than the next. Great job.

This turned out so cute! I like that you used a paint chip for color inspiration. It would make a nice house warming gift!
That looks like a block I'd like to live on! :) This is a really fun quilt and you're right, it would make a great guild challenge with the paint chips.

That is one of most fabulous block party I have ever seen. I would love to host such a creative fun party for my friends at one of our favorite venues in NYC. My friend gave a similar party last month and we all had a great time over there.
