Cross body bag and then some


I made a new much needed bag! It is the Luisa pattern by Sotak Handmade

I used my stash canvas fabrics for this bag. It went together pretty easily. Of course I didn't take pics of the inside which is a bright pink print. This bag is great! It has a zip pocket outside and on the back two slip in pockets. In the inside it has a zipper pocket and then the whole thing zips shut. It is the perfect size to carry my tablet or just small stuff. 

I guess I was in the sewing mood as I got out some knit fabric I had and made a tunic top too. 

I might make more since I still have a huge stash of knits and other clothing type fabrics. 

 I have been neglecting my garden of flowers and veggies but they seem to be thriving pretty well. My husband shoots them some water so I guess I should say they are his garden. This hibiscus has gone wild. We have another one that is white, gotten and planted at the same time and it is a dwarf compared to this one. 
We planted one cucumber plant and we have been eating them nonstop for about 3 weeks. I found a recipe for a cucumber salad made with green grapes and green onions ...I know very green salad! It is really good and we just keep making it over and over.

I have been testing a new pattern for Blossom Heart Quilts called #doubledash


I chose to do a scrap version and the Queen 90 x90 size. ??? crazy! Yes I guess I thought I would use up lots of my scraps this way. Um...nope!

I love these colors together.  I chose solids and then lots of low volume white/cream/grey for the partners.

SuperNova Friendship swap - Finish ALYoF

I can't help it ...this quilt makes me smile!  My swap partner Jenn  Jennifer under the Juniper Tree  (her post on her version is up so go check it out) and I finished our quilts. We made them big and bright and scrappy and they are finished. Did I say that already??? Both of us finished! Okay, enough. Mountain High, Valley Low - The improv triangle QAL

"Mountain High, Valley Low"  48" x 38" improv from scraps line quilting in diamond pattern The improv triangle QAL with Nicholas Ball on IG was so much fun. It was just the most glorious distraction for me. I was able to sit down and make a few blocks at a time and didn't have to worry about measurements and sizes. It was just what I needed during my waiting game with my health issues.  The back piece was something I hand dyed a while back. I think it worked pretty great for this back with a few leftover blocks. I had several versions going and of course didn't think it was going to end up so big but it was just so fun to work on.  Luckily I had just the right aurifil thread. I ended up using most of the lighter ones which were a mix of 50 and 40 weight.  It took a long time to figure out what I wanted to quilt across all those colors. Blogger's Quilt Festival Time - He Said, She Said

I am so excited. I missed out on entering in the Blogger's Quilt Festival last time and want to make it in this year.  I am entering in my recent finish "He Said, She Said" because I made if for me and I love it so much!!  "He Said, She Said" Love 24"x 24"approx. This has 28 shades of grey newsprint/fabric and 1 piece of green fabric that is variegated.  This is the second time I made up this pattern by Liz Havertine from the LA Modern Quilt Guild. I just love it so much I know I will make it again but maybe bigger? I entered this little one into my local guilds "Shades of Grey" challenge.  Matchstick quilting with 6 shades of thread I had some fun taking photos at this old building that used to have a complete sign for Best Flour on it. So fun to get out and see things in the neighborhood. So thankful many people let me crawl in their bushes to get some photos!  haha You can see my original post  HERE ...
