This Week=Too many irons in the fire

Image
One of the things on this weeks to-do list is this cute little Economy block for the SewCanShe Classic Blocks-Fresh Fabrics group HERE. I love this fabric and thought it might be fun.  See the scrap of the owl...well both ends of my fabric cut has half cut blocks. Why? Not useful but I still might use them somehow because they are too cute to throw away. Next up... A whole bunch of strips were made for this Robert Kaufman Kite Flight pattern. I don't really like how it is put together but I have started so must continue. And a recap with our winning quilts from the LateNight quilters SuperNova Friendship Block Swap. Jennifer Under the Juniper tree and I got together with our two quilts and too some fun photos.     Yep, there we are ...just two sewing sisters. So happy to have met Jen and that we live close enough to hang out! Whoop Whoop!! So many things to work on and so little time. It is National Quilting day at the International Quilt Study C...

It might be better from a better camera angle but it is too too cold outside if you catch my drift? :) Half the blocks were made by my now friend Jennifer under the Juniper tree linking up with WIP Wed at Freshly Pieced HERE and Let's bee social with Lorna HERE

Jen's is the orange and mine is the green. This is round two of the  hosted by Stephanie of Late night quilter and Sandy from One million stitches.  I am swapping with Jennifer Under the Juniper tree (check out her blog here ) on this swap and I am so glad. We are having a good time getting to know each other. Our swap question this round: Without any physical or mental limitations, or personal obligations such as children or money, if you could hold any occupation or talent what would you choose and why? Would you be a great artist, an Olympic athlete, a neurosurgeon – the possibilities are limitless – share with your partner what it is about that talent or profession that inspires you. I think it very curious that we both feel we are sort of doing something in our talent areas and without limitations we both would just do more along the same lines.  I already knew that Jen is musically talented as well as a talented quilt maker.  So if she could she wou...

June June June and a goal

Image
It's June and I am afraid that it is going to fly by.  You know that song "June is bustin' out all over" from Carousel? Well that is what it feels like around here. The garden is growing. The vegetable patch was looking pretty good but the high winds and rain flattened many of my plants last night. The little bit of hail didn't help either. The spring cleaning should be well under way...mine stalled out yesterday when I tried to get the hard water ring out of the toilet ( I did get it done but not much else on the cleaning front).  However, progress was made on my current WIP on the DYO sampler HERE  @ SewMamaSew designed by Sarah from Sarah Quilts blog. My second section is completed .   I used another Craftsy BOM (the one in the bottom left) and added in bits of the scraps from several quilts. I love using up the scraps that I kept (for this insane reason I guess) of the bits off of the backings and left over block parts.  The giant Bear Paw is a bl...
