Triple Stash Bash

Image
After finishing the community quilts last week I suddenly have the ability to work on some of my own projects.  First up trying to use up some of the fabrics I have out of my stash.  The tulip quilts are from a recently viewed Jenny Doan video. The tulip block uses some 5" charm packs and I happened to have one that is not exactly my style. So...."little house on the prairie" charms went into those. The rest is just scraps and bits that were big enough to fill in.  Since my style is a bit more modern I wanted to see if I could successfully mix those tiny calico prints with some little more contemporary fabrics.  What do you think? Tulip one Tulip two Now this one is a fun stack and whack type quilt. Tutorial can be found over at  Cluck Cluck Sew . This really is a super fun quilt to make with whatever scraps you might have around. These fabrics I scrounged up were each 9" square to start. I found 2 sort of contrasti...

PQ #6 and a WhoopWhoop!

The Final Challenge for Project Quilting @ Persimon Dreams is "Isn't it Charming".  The entire front of the quilt has to be made of 5" charms.  I happened to have two Bobbins and Bits Charm packs and 1 coordinating FQ and some I had to make some Kona snow 5" squares because all I had was white white.  I felt a bit silly cutting 5" squares then sewing them back together then cutting them in half for my border but I felt to use up the last of the charms in the border (cut these into 4ths) because it was so scrappy I needed that solid break.  I did not have a pattern for this just made wonky stars with the 5" size block an went from there. This was fun and relaxing which was great because I had limited time this week and just wanted to make it work.  All the fabric is from my stash as well as the charm packs. "Charm Stars" measures approx. 48" x 48" Made in Ne.  Straight line quilting with Aurifil off white. Bac...

ALYoF April finish - Enchanté

Image
My year of Lovely finishes for April was just completed as the sun was going down behind the neighbors trees. I was able to take a few pics.  "Enchanté" - Little Black Dress by Basic Grey  49" x 51" Charm pack quilt plus a couple fat quarters and some black grunge and floral yardage. Straight line quilting.       I used some left over charm s for the piecing of the back. I love the fabrics in this collection. I tried to mix other fabrics of my stash in with this fabric collection but I just kept coming back to the collection pieces. I am glad to make this a finish. I have already collected some of Little Black Dress II for another idea. :)   My original goal post is HERE   linking up with HERE
