P.Q. 15.5 - Wearables

Image
This week the theme was Wearables. oooooo I had plans to remake a jacket. I liked the style of an old coat and when the outside was worn out I took the quilted lining out of it ..a few months ago. Sigh since that project was already started I could not do it for this weeks theme.  Instead I remembered that I had a Noodlehead bag pattern and I NEEDED a new bag!  This pattern is the Redwood tote, crossbody bag by Noodlehead.  I had some clearance HobbyLobby fabrics that all coordinated and zippers on had so went for it.  This bag has a zip and regular pocket outside and I made 3 drop in pockets inside with a big spacious inside and it has a zip top to close all.  Also adjustable strap for crossbody. It is snowing here today so didn't get great pictures but made as bright as I could.  At the last minute.... I decided to add the handle straps that the pattern calls for. I made them but didn't think I would like them. When I realized the bag is fairly deep I fig...

Sandhill Sling and apple adventure

Image
I set off to take a fun pic of this  Sandhill Sling bag (pattern by noodlehead) Last weekend my husband decided he wanted to run 18.5 miles near his home town and I needed to spot him. So while waiting for him I climbed a ditch and snapped my bag with the pretty goldenrod.  I almost lost my bag and or damaged some limbs climbing that ditch. My shot turned out okay but not great and I had to jump up on a steep incline to get it back..ha It survived and so did I. :) I stopped at the grocery store to admire the pumpkins. Still not a great pic.  Then I talked my friend and fellow quilter/crafter Jen to go pick apples yesterday.  It was sooooo beautiful there! Of course we found apples but I also brought my sling bag and snapped some quickies! back with added phone pocket and sunglass loop I used the pattern for the main part of the bag but I added an extra pocket in the inside that is small for keys. This adventure was a success, fun and nice to get out of the city....

Cross body bag and then some

I made a new much needed bag! It is the Luisa pattern by  Sotak Handmade I used my stash canvas fabrics for this bag. It went together pretty easily. Of course I didn't take pics of the inside which is a bright pink print. This bag is great! It has a zip pocket outside and on the back two slip in pockets. In the inside it has a zipper pocket and then the whole thing zips shut. It is the perfect size to carry my tablet or just small stuff.  I guess I was in the sewing mood as I got out some knit fabric I had and made a tunic top too.  I might make more since I still have a huge stash of knits and other clothing type fabrics.   I have been neglecting my garden of flowers and veggies but they seem to be thriving pretty well. My husband shoots them some water so I guess I should say they are his garden. This hibiscus has gone wild. We have another one that is white, gotten and planted at the same time and it is a dwarf compared to this one...
