P. Q. 16.2 is Ombre =Guacamole




Project Quilting 16.2 is Ombre
I used this simple tumbler template to create this ombre fade. 
Who knew I had so many greens in my stash...and I did not use them all either. blush*


The backing was a piece I had in my stash which let me to think about quacamole for the title. 



Simple quilting diagonals and picked one green for the binding.  It measures about 40" x 48".

Your quilt is very pretty. I love all of the green fabrics, green is my favorite color. The backing is as nice as the front.

Feb One monthly goal

I was able to complete a simple goal in Jan. so I am back at it again. This one will also be a small project because I also want to so the Project quilting 9th season challenges too.  One monthly goal is a challenge set up by Patty over at  Elm Street Quilts .  This is a small wall hanging I made using the Quick Curve Ruler and fabrics from my stash. I am practicing freemotion quilting with Jess @Quilty Habit so maybe I can do some on this little project.  I forgot to mention on my goal finish link that I was also successful at wearing yoga clothes everyday at some point, and completed 31 days of yoga exercises for back and hips. I am amazed at how many more movements I can do. Working on knees and other parts as I cruise on into Feb.  And I actually read or listened to 11 books. It feels good to have my concentration working a bit better to be able to do this again.  I used to read a ton of books and health issues took that away. I...

ALYoF March ~ Something from nothing, a scrap quilt

"Something from Nothing", a scrap quilt 51 x 52 1/2" Leader and ender method started early 2014 650 2 1/2 squares with bits and snips of binding ends   My goal was set HERE   I love all the bright snips of fabrics and I especially love that this was all throw away scraps. I should have made it bigger but with the mess of the stacks of 650 of these little blocks was enough AND this little guys is plenty heavy!! I spent all yesterday blocking it so it can hang on the wall. We will see if I get that done.   All stash scraps and scrappy stash backing too.  My stash is getting a work out this year and I am so happy!   My trouble on this one came with the straight line quilting. I knew I had to only quilt straight lines where the scrap corners were not. WIP - Elegant Curves

I was faced with a challenge last week that I had no spare time for. Even though I would not get it done for the deadline of the challenge I wanted to complete this table runner anyway. I will be showing a demo on the Quick Curve ruler next week and wanted one simple piece from the book  One Wonderful Curve  by sewkindofwonderful.   I changed up the layout and block number to accommodate my fabric and color choices to go with.  Will I always love grunge fabric? I think so.....  One of my goals this year for myself was to try more dense quilting that is not matchstick.  I had fun with this but I chose to backstitch instead of bury my threads and I should have not done that.  I have a knot button on my machine but still have to bury the ends so I am curious to what most of you do?
