I used to make lots of garments but haven't in a long time. Love the top and amotivated to look through my garment patterns. Thanks

Bright spot - a modern d9p finish

"Bright Spot" modern d9p  approx: 59 x 65 Last year some of my lqg members got together for a sew day and they made up kits to make Kristy Daum's moderized d9p (disappearing 9 patch). I didn't make it that day but knew I wanted to give it try.   She has an easy  tutorial  to try and it is fun to play with colors.   My other lqg decided to make this for our outreach project and I played with some colors that I thought would be fun ...so this is my sample.  Our charity quilt project is a bit different but the colors are the same.  The back is all crayola color names. Love the look of this fabric. I only have a tiny bit left.  Had a little fun out and about for a photo shoot...until the man on the tractor came that is! 2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet

I am so excited to be taking part in the 2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet organized by Victoriana Quilt Designs! Welcome Welcome Welcome ~~~~~~~~~ My name is Kris and I have been quilting for quite a few years. I started pretty young, learning from my mom.  When she passed away I was not sure I wanted to continue to quilt and then......I did.  I made a portrait quilt of her and you can read about it  HERE Over the past few years since, I have jumped into trying and finding my way. One of favorite trys was this scrap quilt called Triumphal Arches.  It was made of random scraps fitted with arch shapes. I used all sort of colors and then light to dark background scraps. It was so much fun to make. Japandi - a bee quilt

Japandi 57" x 49"  improv crosshatch organic quilting a BeeUtifully Modern Bee quilt my Bee mates: Jen, Phyllis, Liz and Judy  This quilt is the first blocks my beemates and I made together.  I was up for Queen Bee first and I chose a combination of Japans wabi-sabi style mixed with the clean natural lines of Scandinavian design. Throw in asking for making your own stripes and a neutral palette and you get Japandi style! It took me 2 full length audio books to piece the blocks together once they were turned in. I think I figured close to 22 hours. It was a challenge to create balance and use up all the bits.  It is hard to tell from here but some of those little bits are tiny tiny bits, skinny lines and stripes.  With our Bee if you want your piece bigger you have to make quite a few blocks and bits to fill in. Flowering Lonestar test and Giveaway!

  I am so excited to share with you the pattern I tested, "Flowering Lonestar" a new pattern by Melissa at SewBitterSweet Designs . I was so excited to be able to test this pattern for her.  This pattern goes together really quickly and is one of two patterns Melissa is launching today!!! Yes there are Y seams and Melissa helps you through. If you need more help in this area I found that the youtube video by Edyta Sitar HERE  will help you with some visuals. I knew I wanted to make a more masculine version of the lonestar. I used some FQ's from my stash and some lovely Basic Gray Grunge (my favorite). I think the colors worked well and for one last touch I made the background blocks on the side another color. I think it looks perfect for a baby boy! I did the quilting with Aurifil 50# weight color 5011 which blended with the prints nicely and highlighted the lighter side.  Spiral quilting with my walking foot to finish it off.  You can...
