"Little Black Dress charm pack  quilt top"     This little quilt  topper was on my 1st quarter Finish along goals and it didn't get finished. I have to make the back and get some idea of how I want to quilt it. I am going to carry it over to my 2nd quarter list and hopefully get it done.     Linking up with A Lovely year of finishes HERE      

Not sure that is the correct name I want to give this quilt but it is how I am feeling. I have lots of flaws, lessons learned, and techniques tried though. There is also a bit of blood, sweat and tears but I am choosing to have 'Satisfaction' playing in my head right now.      Skillbuilder QAYG BOM QAL is done. Started in 2013 and finished 3/28/14...yeah me! My picture is not great as usual but there really was some blood involved in making this quilt. I snagged a pin through the skin on the tip of my thumb while putting the binding on. Not a place to put a band-aid so there is some of my personal signature on this quilt. It is okay it was practice and skill building for me and will be lovely with all it's flaws on my couch. :) Putting the pieces together had me sweating a bit and when I carefully pinned and lined up the rows with the binding and they did not match up as pinned.   1 of 20 blocks and 1 of 10 I have to quilt   I wasn't sure I was going to pick this for my goal (still not) but I have to commit to something and this is taking up the most usable space in several rooms. I am going to choose to work on my Skillbuilder QAYG blocks from 2013. I have slowly made progress and finished the last 10 blocks but don't have them quilted. If I make a plan maybe it will get done.  I will need some luck on this project.  Linking up with A Lovely year of finishes  HERE  

             "Weathered Wood" 60 x 75 Friday and the end of the month...all is good! I am posting my finish for the month, the "Barn Door" from the QAL over at Sarah Quilts . I am so happy with my finish. I am even more excited that it was all from my stash.  It was cold enough outside that the tape kept freezing and letting go so I had to just lay it down for pics.  I used the other hour glass block on the back and then used more stash fabrics to piece it all together. I kept with the Barn door theme and tried to quilt it up with a giant "Z" and I think the placement of some of the fabrics lend themselves to the idea of slats of wood.  It just goes to show that making yourself use what you have sometimes can be surprising. :)  I really love this one and I think it is my largest quilt yet on my home machine.  I am linking this up with  HERE my original goal post is  HERE Also linking up with Crazy mom Quilts for Finish it

Time to decide what I will complete this month. I am currently working on a quilt called the BarnDoor in a QAL hosted by Sarah at SarahQuilts.   I am using only fabrics I have had in my stash (for a long long time) and I came up with this. I love it! I have to make the two borders yet and I will have to piece the back because this is way bigger than I expected. Not sure what the quilty plan will be but I will make this my goal for the Feb. Here it is Friday and the end of the month. 2013 for me, was a year of learning and experimenting. Trying, failing, succeeding and striving to do better.  Some days joyous, other days frustrating. For me it was just in the doing something creative that kept me going. I am thankful for it all.  Here are a few of my creative adventures:   I am excited to get started on a few challenges, QALs and working on my stash.  Here is a WIP that I would like to finish this month.
