Sisters to the rescue


I have been feeling like I am not getting much done these days. I get a spurt to finish a UFO and then I think I am going to ride the wave of accomplishment and then....nada! I am working on a couple slow big stitch pieces and they are sloooooow going.haha. 
I was feeling the need to accomplish something for good so I arranged a sisters gathering around one sisters birthday. 4 of us got together with machines in tow and put together the blocks I had buried a while back. 


I had 3 kits from Quilts for Kids ready to go. One actually was a kit from the local organization that a fellow quilter could not get to so she gave it back to me. Instead of returning it undone I decided to get r dun and 
make 2 more kits up and finish from my stash pile.

These are the blocks from a tutorial by Cluck Cluck Sew I love to use because it is so versatile. 


My yard is torn up a bit but managed some so so pics. :)

After all that I sat down and enjoyed some homemade jelly that one of my sisters made from fruit juice my mom had in her freezer from years ago. Call me crazy but the jelly was quite yum.....especially the chokecherry!!!

How lucky you are to have your sisters near enough to get together and that they have the same interest in quilting. I love the wonky squares from Cluck Cluck Sew tutorial.

Project Quilting Season 5 - #1

  So excited that Kim over at  Persimon Dreams is hosting Project Quilting again this year. It was so fun last year and I accomplished a lot.  This year I had so many ideas for this first Challenge. I wanted to do something more arty but when it came down to it I really need to make lap or baby size quilts for some of the charities I contribute to. 2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet

I am so excited to be taking part in the 2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet organized by Victoriana Quilt Designs! Welcome Welcome Welcome ~~~~~~~~~ My name is Kris and I have been quilting for quite a few years. I started pretty young, learning from my mom.  When she passed away I was not sure I wanted to continue to quilt and then......I did.  I made a portrait quilt of her and you can read about it  HERE Over the past few years since, I have jumped into trying and finding my way. P.Q. 15.6 theme Irish chain

I did a simple Irish chain for this weeks challenge theme for Project Quilting. I made this free pattern before and you can read all about that  HERE . I made this in a kid size mainly because I had limited neon fabrics. I have enough strips cut to make bigger but my goal was to make quilts for kids that I could donate to organizations. So in the end getting this one made this week (also I have had some kind of flu for 2 weeks) is a win! Some of these mostly black prints have been in my stash for a long time so really want to keep working on my stash.  Simple criss-cross quilting. 39"x 49" approx.
