2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet

I am so excited to be taking part in the 2019 Online Quilters Meet and Greet organized by Victoriana Quilt Designs!

Welcome Welcome Welcome
~~~~~~~~~
My name is Kris and I have been quilting for quite a few years. I started pretty young, learning from my mom.  When she passed away I was not sure I wanted to continue to quilt and then......I did.  I made a portrait quilt of her and you can read about it HERE
Over the past few years since, I have jumped into trying and finding my way. One of favorite trys was this scrap quilt called Triumphal Arches.
It was made of random scraps fitted with arch shapes. I used all sort of colors and then light to dark background scraps. It was so much fun to make. You can read about it HERE
Please take some times to visit the others on the Quilters Meet and Greet by clicking on the Logo up top  and click on the logo below to enter the giveaway.
Thanks for stopping by! Good luck to you all!
If you feel inclined you can follow me up on the left. ~~
Kris, the portrait quilt of your mother is amazing - an incredible amount of work. Easy to see why it was 'taking over' and why it entered your dreaming. A quilt you will treasure for ever.
I really love both of the quilts you shared in this post and went on to read about them in the link ups. It must have been a real faith journey as you worked on the portrait of your mother at 16 as it was hard to see how it worked until you got far along in the process. Awesome.
Hi Kris! I'm glad you found your way back to quilting. I'll bet that would make your mom very happy, especially with that portrait you designed of her. I enjoyed your arches quilt as well - it looks very modern and colorful. I think you have an eye for putting color, fabric, and tones together in a pleasing way. ~smile~ Roseanne
Beautiful portray of your mother. Mine taught me how to see clothing but I married and moved away before she started quilting, unfortunately my mother passed away before I could learn from her. But I'm learning now many years later and always think of her while piecing.
